About The Construction Tutor

Originally apprenticed as a painter and decorator, his career developed quickly working as a local authority supervisor and later estimator. His teaching career began with part time work before moving into a full-time role as a construction lecturer in a Further Education college. He has worked for over two decades in further education and delivered further and higher education qualifications in construction, from Entry Level up to Level 5. During this time, he has worked as a lecturer, middle manager and senior manager holding various roles from Senior Tutor in Construction, Head
of Faculty for Construction and Motor Vehicle and cross college leadership as Head of Tutorials and Student Voice.

His twin passions are ‘helping people to grow personally and professionally’ and ‘designing, creating and delivering products and programmes’. Mozz has been actively involved developing the quality of construction education as a subject learning coach, West Midlands regional Construction and the Built Environment Specialised Diploma Practitioner and Pacific Institute trainer.
His areas of specialist interest include all things construction, management, motivation and leadership, health and safety, decorating and sustainability.

Mozz loves learning and will often be found with his head in a book, magazine or online exploring a new subject or brushing up on old ones! His most recent academic achievements have been in Level 7 Strategic Management (Brighton School of Business and Management) and Delivering Higher Education in a Further Education Context (University of Derby).
